CBS’s 4:30 p.m. forecast warned about the second surge of snow and the temperature drop into Sunday morning. Nova says those afternoon briefings need to cue up warming centers, library shelters, and church partners long before dusk.
He would require counties to confirm which warming sites open within 30 minutes of a forecast that shows subzero wind chills. The state would publish that map in the Tax Tracker dashboard and subsidize transportation for seniors and people with disabilities.
Nova also ties these forecasts to better employer guidance. When NEXT Weather says the evening commute will be dangerous, his Department of Labor will send advisories encouraging early releases and remote-work pivots, with a small business fund to offset lost revenue.
A governor’s job is to turn weather information into tangible protection. Nova is ready to own that responsibility.
