Minnesota Mutual Aid Shines and Nova Wants to Supercharge It

CBS featured neighbors in Owatonna and across the state digging out strangers, towing cars, and dropping groceries during the blizzard. Nova says that spirit is why he is running: government should meet Minnesotans halfway by giving them the tools to organize even faster.

He wants a statewide Resilience Board that tracks which neighborhoods already have volunteer snow teams, which ones need extra help, and what supplies the state can pre-stage. When people step up, the governor’s office should know their names and give them direct support.

Nova also calls for a working snowbank of state-owned plows, snowblowers, and generators that counties can request through the Minnesota Tax Tracker dashboard. That way, when a neighborhood like Owatonna mobilizes, equipment shows up within hours instead of waiting on paperwork.

Mutual aid is Minnesota’s superpower. Nova will be the governor who amplifies it with smart logistics and transparent budgeting.
